Manchester United have done some super transfer business under Jose Mourinho, including pulling off deals that the footballing world didn’t think was possible without Champions League football. With both Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic moving to Old Trafford.
Alongside that, though, there are bound to be casualties and people being sold. One man who has been linked with a move away is Daley Blind, and now interest in him has been confirmed by Frank De Boer.
It’s all well and good having interest in the Dutchman who has been excellent for United, but the club wanting to sell him is another matter entirely.
“We have a lot of good defenders here but we’ll see.” De Boer began.
“I like him as a player for sure, he’s fantastic. He is very happy at Manchester United though and played in the Community Shield.”
“I know his situation and I think he’s very happy and playing with confidence but we’ll see in the future.”
Coming in at £14million under Louis van Gaal, Blind is the consummate professional, and has adapted to life at Manchester United wonderfully.
Personally, I just cannot see how Jose Mourinho sells Daley Blind this summer. United are short on centre-backs, and he was outstanding at the weekend. I think the only way this move happens is if Mourinho does bring in another defender, and even then it looks unlikely.
