Manchester United Football Club have always been known for their ability to produce and nurture young talents. Perhaps the best player to come from the academy over recent years is Marcus Rashford.
Jose Mourinho has used the 21-year-old a fair amount since taking over at Old Trafford, however, a lot of Rashford’s playing time has been spent out on the wing. Gareth Southgate has proven time and time again that his best position is through the middle.
With that in mind, it seems as though Juventus believe they can prise Rashford away from United, as the Turin side have begun ‘making background checks’ on Rashford, as they are interested in signing the #10. That’s according to The Times, per The Metro.
Obviously, it goes without saying that United will want Rashford to stay. He’s an immense talent with the footballing world at his feet, and I would personally be surprised if he left.
With that said, the Red Devils will want to avoid another Paul Pogba situation. They lost the Frenchman for almost nothing when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge, although at that time, he hadn’t signed a professional contract so Juventus’ had an easier task to sign Pogba. As for Rashford, he’s under contract until 2020.
