Manchester United were clearly trying hard to land that marquee signing over the summer, but eventually they came up short having to settle for Anthony Martial – who subsequently has already proved his worth at the club with some terrific performances.
Barcelona’s ex-president Joan Laporte has fuelled the fire regarding the transfer of Neymar.
“Messi will never leave Barca but for Neymar, it’s different. The economic situation of the club is not good.” Laporta said.
If we could somehow lure Neymar to Old Trafford then that would be absolutely sensational. The Brazilian has proven just how good he is over the last twelve months, having been one of the outstanding performers for both club and country.
He would certainly cost a pretty penny though, and at 23 his best years are certainly ahead of him. One club who can definitely afford his signature is Manchester United, and although they’d probably have to stump up in excess of £100million to land him it could well happen.
