Excellent 27yo assessing options after Manchester United show an interest: report

Manchester United Football Club could have just received a boost in their pursuit of a left-back. According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose is ‘flattered’ by interest from the Red Devils, and he’s been considering his options for quite some time.

Rose, 27, was linked with a move to Old Trafford just a few days ago, and apparently, the Englishman is wondering whether a change of scenery would benefit his career. Although, he’s currently out injured which may be a concern to Jose Mourinho in the short-term.

The left-back has been at Spurs for quite some time now, and understandably, he wants to win trophies at some point in his career. The North London club haven’t delivered any for him yet and clearly, his head may be turned if the right offer comes in.

Our left-sided defenders have had different struggles recently. Luke Shaw is immensely talented, but he’s always out injured. Daley Blind just isn’t suited to the role and Matteo Darmian is a much better player on the right side.

A move for Rose would make a lot of sense in my opinion, but after Spurs have already sold one key defender (Kyle Walker, to Manchester City), I just doubt whether Daniel Levy will let another top player leave in the same window.
