Yesterday reports emerged that Manchester United were interested in signing the experienced Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinstieger, as Louis van Gaal wants to bring some seniority to the middle of the park.
The 30-year old has found himself in and out of the side under Pep Guardiola, and that has led to him becoming uneasy at the club and contemplating his future.
According to Ian Ladyman, Manchester United’s interest in Schweinsteiger is 100% real, and although the Daily Mail have tried to contact United three times in recent weeks to clear this story up, the club have refused to comment.
Schweinsteiger is calmness personified, and thats something United have lacked in Michael Carrick’s absence – particularly over the last few weeks of the season.
He’d be a great acquisition for the club, and his presence in the side would not only be a great influence for the younger players in the team, but he’d significantly improve our starting XI from minute one.
