Fabio completes medical ahead of Cardiff City switch

Brazilian left-back Fabio da Silva looks set to leave United on a permanent deal, ending his five year stay at the club. Sky Sports News suggest that the 23-year old has undergone a medical at St. George’s Park today, and the move could be completed as early as tomorrow.

Although its sad to see Fabio go, he hasn’t really featured for United in the past couple of years and he clearly isn’t part of Moyes’ plans. Its well-known that Fabio did start a Champions League final back in 2011, but sadly since then its all gone backwards.

Fabio could be in Cardiff’s squad to take on United come Tuesday night, meaning he could go head-to-head against his twin brother for the first time in their professional careers.

Its nice to see Moyes getting a lot of transfer business done in this window as both ins and outs were certainly needed. Getting Fabio off the wage bill now gives Moyes one less problem to worry about come the summer time, and if he isn’t going to play him then he may as well let him leave.
