Anthony Martial is all set to depart from Man United this summer, on a free transfer.

Manchester United Football Club will be hoping to undertake a rather large summer clearout when the transfer window opens. Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to wipe the slate clean and effectively start again.

Among the first tasks is moving on from some of these fringe players who are on massively overinflated wages, creating space both in the dressing room and financially, for new signings.

Anthony Martial undoubtedly falls into that category. The Frenchman has failed to live up to the hype of late, looking like a shadow of the player he once was. Injuries certainly haven’t helped.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has shared his latest information on Martial, claiming that the United star ‘will leave’ this summer. He’s still focused on recovering from injury, while the attacker will pick his next club over the ‘coming months’.

Check out Fabrizio Romano’s X post on the news here:

While it’s disappointing that United are going to lose Martial for no transfer fee, it makes sense to let him walk.

The club have been paying Martial big bucks for the last couple of seasons, for effectively no return due to some torrid injury issues. The sooner he’s gone, the better.

I genuinely do wish him the best going forward, wherever he ends up, but he’s someone else’s problem now. I don’t doubt he’ll succeed in his career going forward. Sadly, it just won’t be at United.
