Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the latest on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future as Manchester United manager.
Manchester United’s managerial position has been an absolute minefield in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era. I guess we never truly appreciated just how good he was until he decided to call time on a glittering managerial career.
David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho all struggled. Ole Gunnar Solskajer was hired to steady the ship. There can be no doubt he’s done exactly that.
The squad is full of quality. Though the Baby Faced Assassin seems to have hit his limit. The players aren’t living up to their own high expectations and the buck always stops with the man in charge.
A 5-0 humiliation at home to Liverpool felt like the final straw. However, the latest update from Fabrizio Romano seems to suggest otherwise.
It looks like Solskjaer will ‘definitely’ be in charge for the Tottenham Hotspur game this weekend, with the aforementioned Fergie supporting the Norwegian.

The fact that Solskjaer spoke to the players is also important. He’s probably confirmed the news to all of them that he’ll be around for this weekend. No doubt to try and clear up the mist surrounding his future.
Now, we see how the players react. Spurs humiliated us last season and United have a chance to prove that they’re still willing to play for the manager this time around.
Sadly, I get the impression that some of the first-team squad have already downed tools. With that in mind, you feel like the writing is already on the wall.
If you’re asking me for my opinion, then this is completely the wrong decision. United aren’t going to win trophies under Solskjaer. Sadly, the experiment is at the end of it’s tether, albeit the overall output from the Baby Faced Assassin has been a positive one.
