The agent of Facundo Pellistri is set for imminent discussions with the club, to find out what the future holds for his client.

Today is a Facundo Pellistri love-in. Rightly so, too. The Uruguay international made an excellent impact off the substitutes bench yesterday evening, picking up an assist and running a tired Charlton defence ragged.

The winger had to wait patiently for that debut. He was never going to let that chance pass him by without giving it his all. After the game, Erik ten Hag seemed super-pleased with what he got from the 21-year-old.

However, the chances have come at a premium for Pellistri. He’s now considering what his next move is.

United source, Jonathan Shrager, tweeted the latest information on Pellistri early this morning. He states that the winger has received ‘formal’ January loan offers from Flamengo and Valencia, though in an ideal world, he wants to stay at United and ‘showcase’ his value to the United boss.

It’s claimed that his agent will meet with United directors ‘imminently’ in order to discuss the future plans for the player. No doubt those meetings will certainly point towards what next steps will be taken for Pellistri.

With United still somewhat thin on the ground up top, I’d like to see Pellistri stay. More than that, he deserves genuine opportunities to come off the bench and prove his worth. He already looks like a bigger threat than Anthony Elanga, so let’s see what Pellistri can do with more chances.

It’s also positive that Pellistri wants to stay here rather than be loaned out. It says a lot about his belief in his own ability. With games coming thick and fast, why not give him a go? He deserves it.
