Facundo Pellistri keen to return to Alaves on loan: report

Facundo Pellistri has told Man United he’d like to leave on loan – again…

Manchester United’s current squad is jam-packed with quality. Sadly, there aren’t enough minutes for everyone to remain happy.

With that in mind, some players simply have to leave on loan in order to get their first-team minutes. Amongst those who want to go out and play their football elsewhere is Facundo Pellistri.

The young Uruguayan, who was signed by United last summer, spent the second half of his campaign with Alaves over in Spain. That’s where he’d like to go once again.

It’s AS with the scoop, thanks to the Manchester Evening News live blog for the translation. They state that the 19-year-old United starlet has ‘informed’ the Reds of his desire to leave on a short-term deal again in 2021/22.

Pellistri managed to feature in 12 La Liga games during the second half of last season, which is way more appearances than he would’ve made if he remained at Old Trafford.

Now, he’s ready to return to Spain but this time, it’d likely be for a full campaign.

United are currently looking to loan out Pellistri again next season so it does feel like we’ll have happy campers all around.

The question now is, does United get the deal done as soon as possible? Or, do the Old Trafford club keep him around for pre-season, in order to gauge where Pellistri is at in terms of his development.

Pellistri is currently training with the first team, so it would be interesting to see if he’s involved against Derby County this coming Sunday. Personally, I’d like to see how he gets on in a friendly before sealing another loan move with the La Liga outfit Alaves.
