Fellaini given his squad number

Our new signing, Marouane Fellaini has been given his squad number for the season. Many Reds were curious as to whether he would given one of the famous #7 or #9 Manchester United jerseys without proving his worth, but that hasn’t happened. The big Belgian will wear the #31 jersey this year.

The 6ft 4′ midfielder wore the #25 shirt at Everton, a number which Antonio Valencia has just switched back to. The only other numbers that are currently available were #7, #9 and Scott Wootton’s old #31, which Fellaini has opted for.

He’ll now depart for international duty with the Belgian national team, before returning to United next week as they take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

    • George, get lost and ‘support’ a different team you negative fool. And learn how to construct a sentence while you’re at it, you baboon!

      • George may be a good idea to give the bloke a chance he’s not even played yet and ur running him down hardly a good example as a true united supporter I support every player that put that shirt on he was brilliant at everton so moyes know better than anyone what he can do

  1. Though I’m unhappy about how we did our business in the window, and am not sure about Fellaini being a Utd player, though I Hope to be convinced. I do know we as fans have been crying out for a physical presence in midfield, Fellaini may just be that man. Here’s hoping to that.

  2. Let’s stop mourning and moaning and do with what we have got. We tried our best to advise that we needed to learn to spend but all this was falling on deaf ears. Our policy or those who need to make things move cannot attract top-notch accomplished players the big clubs with financial muscle do. What are we a so-called big club for? Moyes would have got the players he wanted but I think reality has dawned on him that the big club with money he was coming to was something different. Perhaps he should have been in charge of the money-bag and not Wood……… Lessons learnt. Let’s do better next time when the transfer window opens and hopefully we can defend the title all the same. Good Luck, MAN U!
