Manchester United and Louis van Gaal are keen to trim their first-team squad down to around ‘twenty-one or twenty-two’ players before the season begins, as the Dutchman wants to work with a smaller squad due to the lack of Champions League football.
There are currently far too many average players in the current squad, and with a week to go before the new campaign gets underway, we should expect a lot of movement on the transfer front in terms of both ins and outs.
According to the Daily Mail, Marouane Fellaini, Shinji Kagawa and Nani are all on the list of players Louis van Gaal wants to sell, as United look to generate as much money as possible in terms of transfer fees.
Fellaini is attracting interest from Italian side Napoli, however they only want the big Belgian on loan whereas Manchester United want a permanent deal. Nani is also attracting interest from Italy, but in the form of AC Milan and Juventus, whereas Shinji Kagawa’s #1 destination will probably be Borussia Dortmund.
There are also possible exits for Anderson, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Fiorentina, and also Javier Hernandez who is being eyed up by Southampton and Juventus.
Out of the players mentioned, would you keep any? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
