Man United have received an offer from Fenerbahce, as the Turkish club look to acquire the services of Andreas Pereira.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made a couple of big signings as Manchester United manager this summer. However, now’s the time to let a few faces go.
Before further signings are made, you get the impression the squad will need to be thinned out. Enter, Andreas Pereira.
The Brazilian spent last season on loan with Lazio where he had a decent campaign. He’s now back at Old Trafford, enjoying his pre-season, as he scored a fantastic goal against Brentford.
However, you always felt like Pereira didn’t really have a way back into the United setup. Now, he could be about to be offered a way out, via Fenerbache.
According to TNT Sports, translated via Turkish-Football, the European giant have ‘made an offer’ for the 25-year-old United star. The Super Liga outfit are ‘interested’ in signing Pereira this summer.
United apparently want £21.3m (€25m) to part with the Brazilian this summer. However, Fener would be unable to match that asking price due to the global pandemic that’s still going on.
Understandably, Fenerbahce are looking to agree on a lower fee, while the report also claims Pereira wants to play for a team that’ll allow him to start regularly.
For the Brazilian, he’s now approaching that stage in his career where he needs to be starting week-in-week-out. Perhaps a move to a new country will give him that new lease of life as sadly, there’s no way for him to break into the side at Old Trafford.
Pereira just hasn’t kicked on as Manchester United would’ve hoped. That’s the brutal nature of our sport and, despite his talents, a move away feels like the best course of action for all involved.
