Ferdinand names the three United players who have improved most under Ole

Manchester United have certainly been trending upwards since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge.

The Baby Faced Assassin has brought the feel-good factor back to Old Trafford and watching United has certainly become fun again.

Solskjaer has done more than put smiles back on faces, though, he’s also a great tactician. The squad is improving under him, the players are performing to a higher standard, it’s partly due to the Norwegian’s great work on the training ground.

In a recent interview, club legend Rio Ferdinand has been discussing all things United, and what we found the most interesting was the three players he picked who have improved the most during Solskjaer’s short tenure.

“Since Ole has come you would say [Marcus] Rashford, [Paul] Pogba and [Victor] Lindelof have been the most improved. Those three have been standouts for me. David de Gea is the best keeper in the league by a mile.” Ferdinand told Goal.

The first two he names are obvious. Paul Pogba is probably playing the best football we’ve ever seen from him, while the same can be said about an in-form Marcus Rashford.

However, it’s the latter that fills me with intrigue. Ferdinand, arguably the best centre-half this club has ever seen, had much to say about Victor Lindelof. The Ice Man is now bringing a calmness and a presence to our backline.

After his shaky start, it’s great to see him playing so well and hopefully, he’ll only continue to improve. Now, it’s down to the club to find a long-term partner for the Swede. It’s an area of the field which needs work and it’s down to Solskjaer and his staff to identify potential transfer targets.
