Bruno Fernandes has highlighted some Alejandro Garnacho attitude problems from earlier in the season.

Manchester United Football Club continued their progression with a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad last night. Any victory in Spain is worth celebrating, albeit a two-goal win was required in order to top the group.

Either way, the club is moving forward again, with Erik ten Hag at the helm. The Dutchman still has obvious issues within this squad. The lack of quality in the final third is there for all to see.

One man who has helped out in that regard of late is Alejandro Garnacho. The young Argentine has looked incredibly effective during his two senior starts, including an outrageous goal he scored last night.

Fans were questioning why Garnacho hadn’t been utilised earlier. Well, now we know why…

Ten Hag has briefly touched upon this in the past, though Bruno Fernandes has claimed that the United star didn’t have the ‘best attitude’ during the tour and in the early part of the season. I’m pleased to report that has since changed, hence why he’s playing for the senior side right now.

Check out what Bruno Fernandes had to say on Alejandro Garnacho attitude issues here:

“He was good, but he knows that we expect a lot from him,” Fernandes said live on BT Sport.

“Obviously he’s still really young, he’s doing really well. He was not at his best at the beginning of the season. On the tour he didn’t have the best attitude that he should have had, and that’s why he didn’t get his chances until now. He’s getting his chances because he’s training better, having a different attitude and deserving his chances.”

The club are doing their best to tie Garnacho down to a long-term deal, which makes sense given his immense ability.

Thankfully, his attitude is now of the required level, meaning Garnacho could well become the complete package – in time of course…

The club will exercise patience with the 18-year-old, which is exactly what’s required. He’s still a little rough around the edges, but that’ll come with time.

Garnacho was the bright spark for United last night. He was the only attacker who looked genuinely threatening whenever he was on the football. That has to be rewarded with more starts going forward. No doubt the boss is considering giving him the nod against Aston Villa this weekend.

Do you think Alejandro Garnacho can go on to be a real star for Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
