Fernandes likely to complete Man Utd move today, could make debut vs Wolves on Saturday: report

Well, it has taken the whole month but dare I say it, Manchester United could well be about to finally get their man…

Bruno Fernandes has been heavily linked with an Old Trafford switch throughout January and as the window draws to its close, the Red Devils are seemingly set to get a much-needed boost.

We covered a story earlier today from Goncalo Lopes, who claimed Fernandes was flying into Manchester today.

Now that claim has been backed up by the Daily Mirror, who go as far as saying that the star midfielder is likely to complete his United switch today – and Fernandes could well make his debut vs Wolves this weekend.

In terms of cost, the 20-time Premier League champions could eventually end up paying £67.8m after various add-ons and bonuses. Which, all things considered, isn’t bad when you look at Fernandes’ insane numbers.

I’d like to point out that we have to give Fernandes time. Adjusting to a new system, new city, new league, particularly in the middle of a season, isn’t easy. We shouldn’t expect the Portugal international to continue putting up these ridiculous figures. With respect, the Premier League is a massive step up in class from the Portuguese division.

That said, our fans do have every right to be excited. Fernandes is a top talent who’ll instantly become the best midfielder at the club as soon as he walks through the door.

Roll on Old Trafford Saturday night, where Fernandes will undoubtedly get a heroes welcome!
