Man United are now closer than ever to signing Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
Jadon Sancho’s proposed move to Manchester United has been on the agenda for the last couple of summer transfer windows. Sadly, the Old Trafford club would fall short on both occasions.
Now, however, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is seriously close to landing himself a new right-wing superstar. The stories have been pretty frequent over the last couple of days as the transfer ramps up. Now, Fabrizio Romano has given us a massive update.
Apparently, an agreement between United and Dortmund over the Sancho transfer is ‘really close’. Romano adds that the final details are expected to be completed in the ‘next few days’. Then, the Englishman will join United.
Although no transfer fee is mentioned by Dortmund, the common belief is that the transfer will cost somewhere in the region of £75-85m after add-ons and bonuses.
Sancho, who is currently away with England at the European Championships, is no doubt excited for his big-money move back to England.
As for United, they’re seemingly landing someone who can nail down that right-wing position from day one. Sancho provides goals, assists and a general directness that this Red Devils side needs.
Although it’s unlikely we’ll get official confirmation on the Sancho signing until after he returns from EURO 2020, this is a massive step in the right direction. I don’t think it’ll be too long before the deal is over the line. Hopefully, in time for Sancho to fully partake in United’s pre-season.
This has to be the first of three major moves for Solskjaer. He still needs a new centre-half and defensive-midfielder for this Reds side to be a major force in 2021/22.
