Daley Blind has certainly turned into the forgotten man at Manchester United, however, he’s intent on staying and fighting for his place at Old Trafford.
That’s according to The Sun, who says that the Dutchman, who has played just five Premier League games this term, is ready to do what he can to win his place back.
The former Ajax man points to the fact that Jose Mourinho utilised him in over thirty matches during the gaffer’s debut season in charge, meaning that the trust is obviously there.
I like Blind, I think he’s a useful footballer to have in and around the squad; purely due to his versatility. However, he’s just not a Mourinho-type defender, which is largely down to his physicality (or lack of).
When he came in, he was deployed in the holding midfielder role which suits him down to a tee. Blind is great off either foot, has an excellent footballing brain and his reading of the game is up there with the best. Perhaps that could be his way back into the side, particularly with Michael Carrick calling time on a glittering career this summer…
