Former Man Utd striker insists Falcao is running out of time

Manchester United have been ironically struggling in front of goal recently, despite a whole host of prolific goal scorers on their books. One if which is Radamel Falcao, who hasn’t really got going since his summer loan move from Monaco.

The former United striker Louis Saha has had his say on the matter, and he finds it hard to see how United will fork out £40+million to sign him permanently.

“Falcao is under pressure because of his contract, as a striker you want to score, but when there is that amount of money involved, you are under pressure. That pressure is not on a defender for instance, so I have sympathy with Falcao. I have no doubts about him and I know how hard it is to be a striker, but there is always a lot of competition at this club.” Saha said.

“When you are in a club and there are only one or two strikers and you are one who will definitely start, it is different. But at United it is not like that. It is a battle, but he has the quality to do a great job here.”

Falcao’s form is definitely a concern. He has had plenty of games under his belt now and has been injury free since the turn of the year, but for me he doesn’t seem to be improving at all – if anything he’s getting worse. He looks sluggish, lacking in confidence and any real finishing ability.

Its frustrating because we all know the talent he has, its just not working out for him here. I struggle to see how we’d even consider signing him permanently from this point on, as Louis van Gaal’s mind looks to be made up already.
