Cristiano Ronaldo still wants to return to Manchester United, according to Don Balon, translated by the Daily Express.
Apparently, Real Madrid are yet to offer the 33-year-old the new contract he desires, and the player isn’t totally happy in Spain, while being open to a sensational return to Old Trafford.
We’ve heard this one time and time again, haven’t we? Honestly, this rumour bores me now and in my opinion, there is zero chance this deal happens. Madrid are fighting for the Champions League trophy every single season and that’s something that we simply cannot offer him at this point in time.
Then you have to think about the deal from the Red Devils’ standpoint. Would a move for a player who’s rapidly approaching the end of his career be worthwhile? Sure, he’s up there amongst the best players on the planet, but for how long will that be the case?
I love Ronaldo as much as the next United fan. It just doesn’t seem like a wise move given the current situation, particularly when we’ve a whole host of talented attackers on the books who still have room aplenty to develop and grow.
