Former Manchester United player emerges as candidate to become next manager

Manchester United could well be in the market for a new manager over the summer, with Louis van Gaal’s days looking numbered after another dire performance. One man who is reportedly on United’s radar is former player, Laurent Blanc.

The news comes from the Daily Mirror, who say the current Paris Saint-Germain boss has emerged as a viable target to take over in the summer, if he chooses to leave his homeland.

Blanc, who has recently turned 50, has turned into a real superb manager during his three year spell with the Ligue 1 side so far. In 137 games as boss he has won 70% of them, with an impressive 70% win ratio.

He should definitely be considered for a managerial role at Old Trafford, and although he isn’t that big name manager, he would certainly be an astute piece of business as he knows the club well.
