Manchester United have been struggling defensively recently, and a factor of that simply has to be the horrific injuries in that area of the field at the moment. With January looming, the transfer window will be open for Jose Mourinho to try and solve that dilemma.
However, according to one former Manchester United player, it wouldn’t be a total surprise to him if Jose Mourinho chooses to bring John Terry to Old Trafford on a short-term deal when his contract expires in the summer.
Ray Wilkins has a close affiliation with both Jose and Terry, and he thinks that a move to United wouldn’t be out of the question if Chelsea do not decide to renew his deal.
“What about Old Trafford? He’s not playing for Chelsea but I think he still has plenty to offer.” Wilkins said.
“There will be someone out there who would love to have him.”
Although Mourinho and Terry have a very tight-knit relationship, I just do not see how this deal happens. The United fans love to hate the Southerner, and this is a move I personally wouldn’t be able to get on board with – and that’s before factoring in that he is well into the latter years of his career.
