Four Man United first-teamers likely to leave club this summer: report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s task of overhauling this squad is a monumental one. It all starts with letting players leave, before replacing them with players who fit the Baby Faced Assassin’s system.

Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia have already left, while according to the Daily Mirror, Solskjaer has identified four more players who he wants out of Manchester United this summer.

Solskjaer has told executive vice-chairman Edward Woodward that these guys must leave in order to free up space for new signings. Among the manager’s targets are Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Kalidou Koulibaly, Daniel James and Nicholas Pepe.

The first player who the club are looking at moving on from is Juan Mata. This shouldn’t be a problem as the Spaniard is out of contract this summer and he’ll walk away for free.

Second you have Matteo Darmian. The Italy international has fallen out of favour over the last couple of years and to be brutally honest, I’m surprised that he hasn’t already gone. Hopefully, an Italian club will bid for him and allow him to return home.

Next up is Romelu Lukaku. The striker cost £75million to sign from Everton just two years ago, but his hit-and-miss form, coupled with the fact that I don’t really think he fits Solskjaer’s system, leads me to believe he could be on the way out.

The final name on the list is Marcos Rojo. The Argentine has spent large portions of his time at United out on the treatment table, which is a massive shame because during Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge he formed a solid partnership alongside Eric Bailly.
