Four Man United players injured, will miss Valencia game, Mourinho confirms

Manchester United Football Club continue their Champions League campaign at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening. The Red Devils host a Valencia CF side who’ll be looking to get their first points on the board.

The game itself will certainly not be easy. Heck, every continental game is a challenge. The pressure is mounting on Jose Mourinho at the moment. The results haven’t gone in United’s favour. A win here would get him back on the right track. Probably keeping himself in a job for at least another week or two.

Things haven’t gotten any easier for the gaffer before the game, though, with the Portuguese confirming that no fewer than four first-teamers will miss the game with injury.

“Apart from Marcos Rojo, now we have Ander Herrera, Ashley Young and Jesse Lingard out,” Mourinho said, per the Daily Star.

“I prefer the doctor to speak, but they are not in conditions.”

Marcos Rojo is a long-term casualty, however, three more players have been added to the list. Ashley Young play on Saturday but he’s obviously picked up a knock, while Jesse Lingard didn’t make the bench last time out. The injury would explain it. As for Ander Herrera, who knows what the issue is?

It just gives Mourinho fewer options. With games coming thick and fast, that’s a concern. Fatigue will start to build up, no doubt more injuries will follow. Football is now, more than ever, a squad game. Hopefully, these guys aren’t out of action for too long…
