Frank Lampard has his say on whether Mourinho should manage United

Manchester United could well be on the hunt for a new manager over the summer, with Louis van Gaal certainly dividing the fans at this point in time. The man expected to get the job is Jose Mourinho, and Frank Lampard has had his say on the situation.

“If I’m in charge at Manchester United & I see Pep Guardiola going to Manchester City, J.Mourinho would be top of my list.” Lampard began. “They are not happy with where they are at. It’s a good option for both Manchester United & Jose. It’s a good fit.”

It certainly must pain Frank Lampard to see arguably the best manager he has had being linked with one of his biggest rivals in Manchester United. Lampard is right though, ever since Mourinho left Chelsea the first time it has always felt like the Special One would end up sitting in the Old Trafford hot seat at some point in his career.

It doesn’t look like anything will happen until the summer at the very earliest though. As you’d imagine, Jose Mourinho will want a full summer to implement his results and tactics rather than coming in now and disrupting the current system in the middle of a campaign.
