Manchester United starlet, Demetri Mitchell, is a target for Frank Lampard at Derby County.
That’s according to The Sun, who says that the left-back, could cost around £500,000 for the Championship club.
After making his Red Devils debut just over twelve months ago, Mitchell has gone from strength-to-strength following an excellent loan spell with Hearts in Scotland.
He’s now at that stage in his career where he has tasted regular football, and will presumably want to continue with that trend from here on out.
Personally, I’d love to see him go on his third pre-season tour with United, because I genuinely believe that there is a real opening there for him. He’s quick, strong, hard-working and positionally aware. With Jose Mourinho not being the biggest Luke Shaw fan, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mitchell deputise for Ashley Young for a season.
If Derby do pull off the transfer, then they deserve huge credit. They’d be getting a brilliantly talented individual at an absolute bargain price. I hope United do keep him on their books for at least another twelve months, because he has huge potential.
It’s certainly going to be intriguing to see how this one plays out.
