Fredy Guarin could join Manchester United in bittersweet deal

Last night rumours emerged that Manchester United have made their move for Inter Milan midfielder, Fredy Guarin. David Moyes is keen to bring new faces through the Old Trafford doors in January, especially in the midfield area to give United a much-needed lift heading into the vital stage of the season.

Moyes wants to bring at least two new central midfielders to the club, and Guarin would be a good start in my opinion. He plays with a bullish attitude and our central-midfield could do with a bit of fight and desire.

Two different transfer fees have been mentioned though. The first is a £10-15m straight cash deal for Guarin, and the other certainly won’t please Manchester United fans. Some media sources are claiming that Javier Hernandez could be used in a straight swap deal for the Columbian midfielder, as our Mexican striker has found his playing time slashed since the arrival of Robin van Persie.

Personally I’d hope we’d just pay straight cash for Guarin and keep hold of Chicharito because he is absolutely deadly from off the bench. If we were to sell our hit man, I believe we should be looking for closer to the £20-25m mark for him anyway.
