From Sky: Chelsea join Manchester United in the race to sign 28-year-old

Things can happen pretty quickly in football, and that seems to be the case again here in this latest transfer saga. It was only 24 hours ago when Manchester United were linked with a move for Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan, now, we have competition.

That’s according to Sky Sports News, who say that Chelsea have joined in the race to sign the 28-year-old Croatian.

First of all, I think this tells you absolutely everything you need to know about just how good Perisic is. Chelsea and Manchester United were the two most successful teams in terms of trophies this campaign, and to see them battling it out for the signature of the same player intrigues me.

I had my doubts when this news first broke, but then I remembered just how good Jose Mourinho got our transfers last summer. He made four signings, all of which have worked out brilliantly and we simply have to trust the man at the helm until he proves us all wrong in this regard.

This will be a tough decision for the player to make. He has the two in-form teams fighting for his signature and it will probably take some time for him to work out which side is the best fit for him. For that reason, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see because turning down the current champions of England may be tough…
