Manchester United Football Club got another much-needed victory under their belt at the weekend, with Jose Mourinho’s team beating Watford by a 2-0 scoreline. The result was largely down to the fact that Anthony Martial was back in the side, as the Frenchman grabbed himself a goal and also an assist.
The 21-year-old hadn’t started a league game in around a month before this fixture, and finally, it feels as though Jose’s trust has once again been earned by the France international.
Now, Gary Neville has had his say on the situation, and talked about just how much the fans love him, and how the manager should give him the chance (at a regular run in the team).
“He did really well.” Sky Sports quote Gary Neville as saying. “It’s a good start for him in terms of the rest of the season.”
“United have got a lot of games, he is going to get football and the fans love him.”
“The manager has given him a chance. Go for it. It can be the best club in the world for you to play at and make you into a star.”
“I think he has just got to recognise that.”
Neville is a truly excellent pundit, and he always speaks perfect sense. That’s the case again here. Honestly, I firmly believe that Jose Mourinho is a coach that sticks with what works, and Martial certainly worked at the weekend.
I’ve no doubts that in the next key league fixture, Martial will continue to play on that left-hand side, along with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juan Mata who also acquitted themselves wonderfully at the weekend.
It definitely feels as though the manager has found his starting four now, and I absolutely love the dynamism, creativity and pace that they all bring to the fold.
