Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to rule out a Manchester United return, according to the Manchester Evening News. Despite being under contract at Real Madrid until he’s 33, the Portugal star hasn’t ruled anything out just yet – lets be honest, you wouldn’t expect him to say anything else.
Ronaldo has always been like that in that sense, and he never sets anything in stone. In 2012, he claimed he was ‘unhappy’ and ‘sad’ in Madrid, only to pen a new contract a few weeks later.
When Ronaldo was asked whether he would return to Manchester United, he replied:
“Of course, it was one of my favourite clubs, Manchester, everyone knows that every time when I speak about Real Madrid I should speak about Manchester United, I love it there.
“I was 18-years-old, I win everything there. The people treat me like a god there so I appreciate it and in the future nobody knows.”
Personally I don’t think Ronaldo will ever return. He’s a boyhood Real Madrid fan, he loves it in Spain and he’s doing incredibly well out there. Even if he were to want to come back, I don’t think Manchester United would fork out the amount of cash needed.
