Manchester United are back in the hunt for Angel di Maria’s signature after his proposed moved to PSG hit a snag over the £45million transfer fee, claim The Sun. The Argentine was all poised for a move to France, but due to Financial FairPlay the move may not go ahead.
After spending £50million on David Luiz, FIFA have warned PSG and told them to curb their spending or risk facing sanctions similar to those given to Manchester City. Meaning that a move for Angel di Maria looks in doubt unless they sell players first.
Angel di Maria had an excellent season for Real Madrid last summer, and an equally good World Cup followed. Louis van Gaal likes the 26-year old’s playing style, and the fact that he can play all across the front three. However the club have reservations about his £6.5million-a-year wage demands, which could potentially prove to be a stumbling block.
It is widely known that Di Maria would prefer to move to PSG due to Champions League football being on offer in the French capital, but he may have no choice if no other teams come in for him.
