Manchester United have been offered Angel Di Maria for a huge £40million, claim the Daily Star. Although United have shown an interest in Di Maria, it is reported that Louis van Gaal and Ed Woodward see his value somewhere closer to the £30million mark, despite the 26-year old having the season of his life last year.
Angel Di Maria has been offered a contract in Madrid, but the player believes he’s worth more money than what has apparently been offered to him. So Real have decided to test the waters, and see if they can cash-in on him now for profit.
At 26, the Argentinian is approaching the peak of his career, and theres no doubt that he was one of the best players for Real Madrid last season. However he spent a lot of time playing in a central role – which would probably suit United more than utilising him out wide. I always find that left-footed right-wingers are a bit predictable (like Arjen Robben), because all they look to do is cut back inside.
The Star also add that Di Maria is wary about joining Manchester United due to the lack of Champions League football on offer.
