Graphic: Proof that Juan Mata is Manchester United’s best ‘big game’ player

Manchester United Football Club have had a torrid time over recent years, with both Louis van Gaal and David Moyes arguably taking the club backwards. Now, we’re back heading in the right direction with Jose Mourinho in charge – but it will take time.

To succeed in England, you need to have that great record in the ‘big games’, and one man who clearly loves that high pressure situation is Juan Mata. Our smiling Spaniard boasts the most impressive record in those fixtures throughout the top six clubs which is massive.

In 43 games, he has provided 13 goals and 10 assists – coming in at a goal/assist every 148.6 minutes – comfortably better than next best Coutinho with a goal/assist every 172.5 minutes.
