New Bayern Munich manager, Pep Guardiola, has admitted he is keen to bring Thiago Alcantara to the German side this summer. The pair have previously worked together at Barcelona, and Thiago’s agent is Guardiola’s brother, Pere… When you add in the fact Bayern won three trophies last year, it’d be hard for Thiago to say no.
Although a deal hasn’t been agreed yet. You’d have to think Bayern are certainly favourites for the U21 European Championship winner.
In a press conference this morning, Pep Guardiola said:
“I want Thiago Alcantara. Have asked (Bayern to get him) Don’t know what will happen.”
“I don’t think (adding another midfielder) will be a problem. I spoke to club about my concept and told them why I want Thiago Alcantara.”
“Thiago is the only player I want, that’s what I told them. It will be him or no one.
“We have many players but we the need the special (quality) that Thiago Alcantara brings.”
He certainly seems keen on being reunited with his old player. Now the decision is up to Thiago.
