Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho are seemingly still priority number one for the Baby Faced Assasin and Man United.
The transfer window has now closed, with the Old Trafford club scrambling to complete four signings on deadline day. However, everyone knows that the players signed weren’t the first-choice options.
Erling Haaland was the big target in January, though eventually, the Norwegian would head to Borussia Dortmund. As for Jadon Sancho, Red Devils interest in the Englishman has been well-documented.
Well, according to ESPN, the young duo remain Solskjaer’s top targets at the club – despite those failings over the last two transfer windows…
The Baby Faced Assassin had to settle for second best, acquiring players who were not on his initial list, including Donny van de Beek. I don’t doubt the players added will be excellent signings, they just weren’t our first picks.
So when will United return for Sancho and Haaland?
Well, I’d be extremely surprised if Dortmund would be willing to let either move on in January. Come next summer, Sancho will be entering into the final year of his contract, though I’d imagine interest in the exciting winger will only grow.
As for Haaland, he has a release clause in his contract, though it doesn’t activate until 2022. At which point, he’ll be available for £68million. For a player of his calibre, that’s an absolute bargain. Again, though, interest in him will be massive and it may well be hard for United to win that race.
I just hope United’s chances at signing Sancho haven’t ended. The club wouldn’t have endeared themselves to the player by failing to make the deal happen this summer – and without Champions League football on the table in 2021/22, the Old Trafford club may find themselves in an uphill battle…
Well, we’re only eight weeks away from January and presumably another transfer window… I don’t doubt that Haaland and Sancho to Man United rumours will start again soon.
