Hakim Ziyech has seen his name thrown into the transfer ring, with the winger now linked with a Man United switch.
Just like in every other transfer window, Manchester United continue to be linked with absolutely every single name under the sun. I guess that’ll never change due to the stature of the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag’s targets all have a similar theme; they’re all players the Dutchman is familiar with in some capacity.
The latest name to be linked with a Red Devils transfer is no different; Hakim Ziyech.
Ten Hag has previously worked with the Morocco international at Ajax, with Ziyech part of that side who made it all the way to the Champions League semi-final.
Now, French journalist, Nabil Djellit, claims that the 29-year-old attacker has emerged as one of Ten Hag’s ‘priorities’ for United to sign this summer…
However, luring Chelsea into selling their outcast to a Premier League rival may prove pretty tough.
It’s rare you see transfers between top clubs being made for players. The reasoning behind it is pretty simple. They don’t want players who previously played for them coming back to haunt them.
Ziyech is someone who has looked sharp in fits and spurts for Chelsea, though he hasn’t been handed consistent starts and that’s hurting his game at this point in his career.
The 29-year-old probably only has one big transfer left in him and maybe, a reunion with Ten Hag would be of interest to the man born in the Netherlands.
With United looking pretty thin out wide, this does feel like a smart piece of business if the Reds could somehow pull it off. Obviously, that’s going to be easier said than done but it makes sense for the Reds to do their due diligence and at least put the feelers out to gauge whether this move is a genuine possibility.
