Man United midfielder Hannibal has asked to leave the club during this transfer window.
Manchester United Football Club have made some great signings in this transfer window, while further additions are now reliant on raising funds via player sales first.
The Old Trafford side are also looking to trim down the wage bill significantly, by getting rid of some fringe players who do not play week-in-week-out.
One man who has fallen into that category is Hannibal. The Tunisia international is yet to make that big breakthrough into the match-day squad on a regular basis, leaving his career in footballing limbo as things currently stand.
Something has to change. The player himself is now pushing for that to happen. It’s Buzz News Tunisia with the information. They state that English press sources have told them that the 21-year-old United star has ‘requested to leave’ the club during the current transfer window.
The Reds have set an asking price for Hannibal, with that figure set to be around the £7m-£7.5m mark.
Earlier on in the window, Rangers showed an interest in signing the former AS Monaco man, who cost United around £8m in 2021.
It does feel like this was coming. Hannibal is out of contract next summer and Erik ten Hag has never really displayed true faith in the young midfielder. At this point in time, it makes sense to move on from the young man.
For the player, it’ll give him a clean slate at a new club that can hopefully offer him regular playing time. For United, they’ve one less team news selection headache to worry about, while also clearing space in the dressing room for new potential signings.
