Manchester United youngster, Hannibal Mejbri, will partake in the 2022 World Cup.
The 2022/23 Premier League season is certainly going to be an intriguing one, even more so given the mid-season break due to the Qatar World Cup. No doubt it’ll be hard for the players to adjust, though the appeal of playing at the greatest international tournament within our sport is a huge one.
Several United stars from various countries will be featuring. The likes of Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo will be there, as will Harry Maguire and many more. One little-known player who’ll also be going is Hannibal Mejbri.
The emerging United starlet is part of the Tunisia squad who managed to beat Mali 1-0 over the two legs, booking their place in next winter’s showpiece event.
As you can see from the photos below, Hannibal was involved in the joyous celebrations and it was superb to see.
For one so young and without much senior football under his belt at club level, Hannibal is showing a maturity beyond his years.
He’s already proven a cut above at U23 level, while the fact that he’s regularly being selected for Tunisia is another solid step in the right direction.
With Paul Pogba likely to be heading out the exit door this summer, there could well be a first-team opening in his position that becomes available. I’d also imagine James Garner will have something to say about that, mind.
Again though, heading to the World Cup, even as a bench or rotation option, is a great experience for a youngster like Hannibal. It’ll definitely benefit him in the long-term, that’s for sure.
