Hannibal Mejbri would make his Man United debut yesterday vs Wolves. But for him, this is just the start.
After signing from AS Monaco in a deal worth £8million a couple of years ago, Hannibal Mejbri has gone from strength to strength within the Manchester United youth system.
Yesterday, Hannibal’s dream of playing first-team football would come to fruition. The Frenchman would come on as a second-half substitute as Manchester United beat Wolves 3-1.
All the hard work and dedication was finally starting to pay off. For Hannibal, though, this is just the start. The United starlet would send a heartfelt message to the fans after making his debut, promising that he will continue to work hard and make his mark within the beautiful game.
After recently signing a new long-term contract at the Theatre of Dreams, Hannibal has been able to solely focus on his football. The pressure about where his future lies is now off, with the 18-year-old ready to make his mark at the biggest club in the country.
It was a decent cameo from the young man against a top Wolves side, though that first taste of senior action will only leave him hungry for more.
Now, it’s about going away this summer, staying fit and coming back feeling fit and fresh for pre-season. He’ll definitely be involved in United’s friendly games ahead of the 2021/22 term. Who knows, if Hannibal impresses, he could be firmly in the senior setup in a few months’ time.
