Hannibal Mejbri has committed his future to Man United, signing new terms with the Old Trafford club.
Credit where it’s due, Manchester United mean business when it comes to tying up their stars of tomorrow to new contracts. Last month it was Shola Shoretire, this time around, it’s Hannibal Mejbri.
United would confirm that Hannibal has signed a new long-term contract with the club via their site today, with the midfielder greatly impressing at U23 level this season.
At this point, Hannibal is playing above his age group. The general consensus is that he should still be playing for the U18s, however, he’s impressing that much, the decision to push him to the U23s was made.
In seventeen appearances at this level, Hannibal has scored four goals and tacked on seven assists.
While signing his contract today, Hannibal was all-smiles alongside Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, check out the photos below:
The good news for Hannibal is that he knows United have his backing. The club have placed a real show of faith in the Paris-born midfielder.
Now, it’s up to the player to continue doing what he’s doing. He’s performing extremely well and now it’s about continuing to develop at his own pace.
While watching the U23s this term, Hannibal is arguably the most impressive player I’ve seen. His intelligence, passing range, movement and finishing ability is there for all to see.
I don’t doubt that if United have any sort of pre-season tour this summer, Hannibal will be included. This boy is a super-special player who has all the makings of a top-class footballer at the highest level.
This new deal is another step in the right direction for the young man, and it’s a richly deserved contract.
