Hannibal ready to ‘risk everything to succeed at Man United

Hannibal Mejbri has admitted he didn’t come to Man United just for the sake of it.

Manchester United Football Club have always built their foundation on giving youth an opportunity and letting them flourish at the highest level.

Erik ten Hag has continued that mantra on tour, giving opportunities to several teenagers and rising stars.

Amongst that group of players is Hannibal. The former AS Monaco man has been in and around the first-team for a fair while now, playing an energetic cameo against Liverpool at the back end of last season. He’s also featured in fits and spurts on pre-season tour under United’s new Dutch boss.

Well, whilst speaking to French media, the emerging United star has sent out a defiant message, admitting he’s ‘ready to risk everything’ in order to succeed with the Reds. Simply put, Hannibal isn’t going to be content with sitting on the bench and just having United on his CV. He wants to make a positive impression week-in-week-out.

“I said to myself, ‘oh yeah, I need to work hard!” Hannibal told Pro-Direct Soccer France, per the Manchester Evening News“I didn’t come here for nothing, not to have on my CV: ‘I played for United’.

“I came to prove to the world that a young person from Paris, from the neighbourhood, can come and impose himself.

“And me…I’m ready to risk everything to succeed at United.”

Honestly, you cannot fault his attitude and desire. Every single time I’ve seen him, the Tunisia international plays with a genuine purpose and care – which is something this United squad could have done with more of last season.

Hannibal obviously has the talent to go all the way to the top. It’s now down to him having the mindset and work ethic to help the player achieve his dreams. The poor transfer window United have had absolutely plays into his hands this season – and I’d fully expect the midfielder to be in and around the first-team squad in 2022/23.

There’s no better manager to learn from than Ten Hag, too. Our new boss has already shown that he is capable of getting more out of these players than his predecessors, so why shouldn’t Hannibal feel confident about performing well at Old Trafford?

The Europa League feels like an excellent starting point for Hannibal. He’ll be playing against some of the continent’s best sides, without the pressure that performing in the Premier League brings.
