Harry Kane is Erik ten Hag’s number one target going into a huge summer transfer window.
Manchester United Football Club have made no secret that their number one priority going into the transfer window is a new striker. The side needs that elite frontman to take the next step.
Harry Kane is constantly the name linked with a potential United switch among the media. It does make sense. He wants to stay in the Premier League, while the Reds are the only elite club who have a need for a top-class number nine.
The latest information in the saga comes from the Daily Star. They state that despite their interest, United will not get involved in a ‘bitter transfer battle’ with Spurs over signing the Englishman.
Despite that, Ten Hag has made the striker his ‘no1 target’ this summer, as he looks to turn the team into genuine title contenders. However, the club know how hard it is to negotiate with Daniel Levy.
Kane is entering into the final twelve months of his deal and right now, he doesn’t look like signing new terms. The Englishman has no choice but to leave his boyhood club if he wants to win trophies. United will face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona to bring in the frontman, which doesn’t make it plain sailing…
It all comes down to cost. If Kane is available for a decent fee then United should be all over this. However, if the cost gets too high, the club shouldn’t be scared of moving on to other options. Let’s be honest here, the Spurs striker is rapidly approaching the wrong side of 30. How many more years does he have left in him at the highest level?
