The injury suffered by Harry Maguire is only minor, with the Englishman looking to prove his fitness ahead of the World Cup.

Manchester United Football Club are certainly moving in the right direction under Erik ten Hag, with the Red Devils winning fifteen of the last available eighteen Premier League points.

The gaffer has always talked about how this is a squad game, with the Red Devils competing on many fronts.

One man who has found himself out of the team recently is Harry Maguire. The Englishman’s poor form, coupled with injury issues, meant the club captain isn’t playing as much as he’d like at this moment in time.

Now, we’ve been given the latest on the Maguire issue, with the information coming from ESPN.

Apparently, the injury to the United star has been described as only ‘minor’, while Maguire’s recovery is ‘going well’.

Maguire is confident he will prove his fitness ahead of Qatar 2022, with the centre-back hoping that Gareth Southgate will pick him and take him to the World Cup with England.

OTF’s verdict

It’s a thigh issue that has been plaguing Maguire over the last few weeks, though we all know how heavily he has featured in England’s plans for years now.

I feel pretty confident in stating that if fit and training with the United first-team before the World Cup, Maguire will be aboard that plane whether he’s starting games regularly or not.

Although performances have been hit and miss for United, Maguire has rarely let England down and he absolutely deserves to be amongst the first names on the team sheet for his country.

With this Maguire injury being only minor, I believe we’ll see him back on the pitch pretty soon.
