Harry Maguire is apparently keen on a Manchester United move, but if the deal is to happen this summer, the Englishman must force his way out and push the deal through.
That’s the view of the Manchester Evening News, with the report adding that, at this time, Leicester City are confident they’ll keep ahold of their man.
I think it’s now pretty common knowledge that United want to add a new centre-half, heck, following some atrocious tour performances, it’s pretty easy to see why Jose Mourinho is trying to invest in that area.
However, with time running down, Edward Woodward has to act quick. It’s now less than a fortnight until the big kick-off, ironically, United host Leicester on the opening day. At this time, though, it’s looking like Maguire will be donning blue rather than red.
If that’s the case and there is zero chance that this deal happens, United must move on to other targets as soon as possible. Wasting time, at such a late stage, could result in no new defender being signed and that’d leave us in a right mess; particularly if we’re targeting Premier League glory. Just stump up whatever Leicester want and get the transfer completed, we seriously need it.
