Harry Maguire set to miss Man United’s final four league games with injury

Man United are set to be missing their club captain, Harry Maguire, for the final four Premier League games this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Red Devils are all-but-confirmed to finish as Premier League runners-up. One more win should do the trick, with Manchester United taking on Leicester City later today.

Ahead of that game, we’ve some negative news to report. Harry Maguire’s Premier League campaign is over.

That’s according to The Sun, who confirm the injury blow, with the key star set to miss the final four league matches. What’s even worse is that our skipper is doubtful for the Europa League final on May 26th.

Maguire is said to be ‘hopeful’ he can play in the European showpiece in Gdansk, as he awaits results of the scan on the ankle injury he picked up against Aston Villa on Sunday.

It’s stated that Solskjaer will do ‘everything possible’ to get the 28-year-old back fit for the Old Trafford club, with a little over two weeks before the final.

Maguire had played every single minute of Premier League football for United since his arrival in 2019, with this injury putting an end to that incredible record.

I guess now it’s a race against time for Maguire. If anyone deserves to be playing in that showpiece, it’s him. The Englishman has been by far and away our best centre-half since arriving at the club. Now, we’re going to see just how bad we are without him back there.

I’ll be honest, I have no faith whatsoever in either Victor Lindelof or Eric Bailly. Partner them together and my stress levels immediately rise. Thankfully, our Premier League season is over, though if we have to put up with that combination against Villareal, I’ll be seriously worried.
