Harry Maguire set to sign five-year Man United contract on £150,000-a-week: report

Yesterday, we covered a story from Sky (amongst others) that claimed an £80million deal for Harry Maguire had been agreed with Leicester City.

As you can imagine, the last 24 hours has provided ample updates on Maguire’s proposed switch to Manchester United. Now we know some deals about his contract.

According to the Daily Mirror, Maguire will sign a five-year contract with the option for an extra year – which is becoming a common thing when players make the move to Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old is also set to more than double his current wages, too, as he’ll take home a huge £150,000-a-week at the Theatre of Dreams.

After weeks of negotiations, United have finally agreed upon a transfer fee for a player in a real position of need. So-much-so that Maguire is set to become the most expensive defender in the world; beating out Virgil van Dijk’s £75million move to Liverpool.

We wrote something from the MEN who claimed that Maguire should have his medical today, and it seems as though personal terms are now all-but agreed, so hopefully, it isn’t too long before this is officially a done deal.

Suddenly, our back four is looking a whole lot better. Now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is left with a tough decision. Does he throw Maguire into the fire against Chelsea next weekend? I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
