Harry Maguire doesn’t have a concussion, rather the Englishman was just feeling unwell.
The World Cup is now in full flow, with Manchester United players galore partaking in the major tournament.
Yesterday saw the English trio of Red Devils all have important roles to play as the Three Lions beat Iran 6-2. A goal for Marcus Rashford and an assist apiece for Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.
The United captain Maguire was subbed off midway through the second half, dealing with what looked like a head injury. It goes without saying, problems to that area aren’t to be messed with and they can be incredibly serious.
Well, those fears have been eased, with United given a positive injury update on the star. He’s not actually dealing with a concussion, rather he was just feeling unwell and he should be fit to take on the USA on Friday evening.
Check out the information from David Ornstein on Maguire here:
Maguire, as we all know, divides fan opinion here in Manchester. He has lacked that consistency, which has led to some nervy moments from time to time.
For England, he’s a completely different player and he has never let the Three Lions down. Gareth Southgate trusts in him wholeheartedly and the ex-Leicester man has rewarded that belief with some unreal performances, particularly in major competitions.
The good news is that he should be good to go against the USA on Friday night. After already dealing with an injury, he needs all the minutes he can get in this tournament as it progresses.
Who knows, if Maguire plays well, there’s a good chance he comes back to United feeling confident ready to prove a point to those that have doubted him.
