Herrera bid turned down

Athletic Bilbao have confirmed they have turned down a €30 million offer from Manchester United for Ander Herrera. Jose Urrutia, the club’s president undertook a press-conference today, in which he confirmed the offer, but also added that the 24-year old will not be leaving unless his €36 million buy-out clause is met.

United fans may remember the name, Herrera was part of the Athletic side that convincingly knocked Manchester United out of the Europa League two years ago.

Urrutia said:

“There is an offer for Ander Herrera,”

“We received it yesterday and we have informed them that we will not negotiate for our players.”

David Moyes seemingly wants to add a bit of Spanish flair to the United team, having already seen several bids turned down for Cesc Fabregas. With just four more days until the window slams shut, Moyes must act fast and up his bid for the young Spaniard.
