Huge blow as Man Utd in-form player ruled out for four weeks

Louis van Gaal seems to have reinvigorated Ashley Young over the past month or so, in the new wingback role that seems to suit the England international perfectly. However the boss has confirmed that the 29-year old could be sidelined for about four weeks with a hamstring injury.

Young pulled up midway through the second half of United’s 1-1 draw with Stoke with no players around him, and he instantly grabbed the back of his leg and signalled to the bench that his game was over.

Its a blow because the winger has been in superb form of late, particularly in an attacking sense as he has been delivering some superb balls into the box that Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie have been feeding off.

With Antonio Valencia also out injured, this could give Rafael da Silva a chance to prove his worth to Louis van Gaal, who clearly doesn’t favour the Brazilian right-back – opting for Young on the right-hand side rather than utilising the twin.
