Manchester United are on a two week hiatus due to the international break now, but ahead of those fixtures the club have been dealt a major blow. Antonio Valencia has confirmed that he has undergone surgery on his leg, and is expected to be out for the foreseeable future.
There has been no exact timescale placed upon how long it’ll take him to recover, but after undergoing surgery you’d imagine he’ll be missing for a fair amount of time.
This is a huge problem, because United are already looking quite thin on the ground in that area of the pitch and this just makes our problems even worse.
Hopefully the versatile Ecuadorian remains upbeat about the whole situation, keeps his confidence high and continues to work hard similarly to how Luke Shaw has. With the winter games now coming thick and fast, he looks likely miss a large portion of games but lets hope not.
